SBIFF highlights

Please come see the world premier 'First Day' at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival. It's a short film written and directed by Jared Ingram (Looking Up Dresses), introducing and starring our nieces Evabella & Georgia Sandberg.

It was fun seeing James Franco speak and discuss his film career (ending with the brilliant 127 Hours). James Franco mentioned that he will have another exhibit at the MOCA (featuring the soap he's been on). Seth Rogan presented Franco with an award after. Seth Rogan was HI-larious (he made fun of our theatre and ordered a margarita).

One of the fun perks of being in the film festival are the passes! We really enjoyed sitting 4th row at most of the events. Can you tell I'm thrilled from the photo? :)

Leonardo DiCaprio (actor, environmentalist and philanthropist) was also at the SB Film Festival to present a well deserved award to Christopher Nolan (Inception, Dark Knight, Momento). Nolan is a GENIUS. Inception was one of my favorite films this year. I also recommend watching the blue ray dvd extras (it has a very interesting piece on the science of dreams).

Leo has also had an impressive film career so far. Some of my favorites include Inception, The Daparted, Aviator, Gangs of New York, Romeo + Juliet and The Basketball Diaries. But what I am most impressed with is how Leonardo DiCaprio uses his celebrity to help causes and charities in need. He is a fantastic advocate for promoting sustainability and protecting the environment. Please help support his cause to Save Tigers Now along with WWF (World Wildlife Fund). It's an amazing organization.
